About the 2011 PilgrimageThe Annual Elphin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place from Sunday August 28th to Friday September 2nd 2011, under the leadership of Most Rev. Christopher Jones, Bishop of Elphin. Pilgrimage Directors: Rev. Ray Milton & Rev. Hugh McGonagle.
In 2011 the Pilgrimage comprises approximately 500 people, including over 50 assisted pilgrims who are cared for by a staff of over 60 people including approximately 4 doctors, 25 nurses, 18 handmaids, and 23 brancardiers. The Pilgrimage also includes 75 young people (from ages 16 to 21) who are looked after by 15 youth leaders. The remainder are regular pilgrims from all over the diocese - led by Bishop Jones and priests from various parishes.

Be part of the Pilgrimage... from your own homeA number of cameras are located throughout the grounds of the Shrine in Lourdes, and these can be viewed via the official Lourdes website. There is a new high-quality live video stream from the Grotto available on TV Lourdes. There are also webcams showing the Rosary Basilica, the Crowned Virgin statue, the Processional pathway and videos of the daily Rosary from the Grotto and the daily Torchlight Procession. All of these are available though the official Lourdes website here.
Mass from the Grotto will be celebrated by Bishop Jones on Tuesday 30th August at 7.30am Irish time (8.30am French time) and will be available to watch and hear via the TV Lourdes website.

leadership of Most Rev. Christopher Jones, Bishop of Elphin. Pilgrimage
Directors: Rev. Ray Milton & Rev. Hugh McGonagle.
In 2008 the Pilgrimage comprised 1270 people, including almost 70
assisted pilgrims who were cared for by a staff of over 60 people
including approximately 4 doctors, 25 nurses, 18 handmaids, and 25
brancardiers. The Pilgrimage also included 75 young people (from ages
16 to 21) who were looked after by 10 youth leaders. The remainder were
regular pilgrims from all over the diocese - led by Bishop Jones and 18
priests from various parishes.
