On Friday, 19th June 2009, Bishop Christopher Jones launched a major fund-raising campaign for Ss. Peter & Paul's Church Maintenance Fund in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel, Athlone.

Ss. Peter & Paul's Parish, in association with Ráth Cairn Gaeltacht Development, will hold two Monster Draws, which will take place on 27th November 2009 and 26th February 2010, with prizes totalling €100,000 in each draw.

Important Notice - Maintenance Fund Raffle
I
n November 2009, a letter was received from Pádraic Mac Craith, Bainisteoir, Comharchumann Ráth Cairn Teoranta, to advise that both Monster Draws will take place on 26th February 2010 to allow participating groups the extra time needed to sell their quotas due to the present economic climate.

The first draw was held in February 2010 (list of winners is attached below), but it was decided that the second draw will now be held in July 2010. Therefore all ticketholders will once again be in with the chance to win in the draw which will have a prize fund of €100,000.

Second Collection
Ss. Peter & Paul's Parish Finance Committee wish to thank all their parishioners for their generous contributions and support for the fundraising efforts for the renovation and painting of the church. In order to meet their future financial needs, the Parish Finance Committee has decided to introduce a second collection, commencing on Sunday 7th March 2010. It will be taken up after Holy Communion at each Vigil & Sunday mass. We live in difficult and challenging financial times for everyone, so it is important to point out that if anyone cannot afford to contribute to this collection for any reason, please do not feel burdened to contribute beyond your means. Thank you for your support - it is very much appreciated.
